SpeedBreaker is an unofficial, fan-made project by project(u). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Electronic Arts Inc., the Need for Speed brand or Valve Corporation.
No game files
No game files are included or distributed. SpeedBreaker contains no game data or assets.
To play, you need your own legally obtained backup (a disc image) of your own Xbox 360 disc of Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). The in-app installer verifies it and installs it.
Trademarks
- “Need for Speed”, “Most Wanted” and “Carbon” are trademarks of Electronic Arts Inc.
- Steam, Steam Deck, Steam Machine, Steam Frame, SteamOS and their logos and icons are trademarks of Valve Corporation. The device icons on the SpeedBreaker page are used only to show which device is which.
- All other trademarks, including Xbox, Xbox 360, Apple, Mac, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, iPhone, iPad, Xcode, App Store, Linux, Windows, Android, Intel, AMD and Vulkan, and their logos, belong to their respective owners. The platform logos on the SpeedBreaker page are used only to show which platform is which.
Images, video and icons
- Screenshots and video. The screenshots and the gameplay video on the SpeedBreaker page are from the game running in SpeedBreaker. The car's licence plate is blurred in the video and in the chase-camera shot. The game content in them (cars, city, HUD and cinematics) belongs to its owners, and the cars' designs and badges belong to their makers.
- SpeedBreaker: Carbon. The SpeedBreaker: Carbon image is key art from Need for Speed: Carbon, © Electronic Arts Inc., shown as a nod to that game. SpeedBreaker: Carbon is planned and not available yet.
- Tux. Tux, the Linux penguin, is by Larry Ewing, made with The GIMP.
- Android robot. The Android robot is reproduced or modified from work created and shared by Google and used according to terms described in the Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License.
- Platform logos. The Linux, Apple, iOS, Windows and Android logo shapes are from Simple Icons (CC0).
Software and credits
SpeedBreaker is free software under the GPL-3.0-or-later. It builds on:
- XenonRecomp, by hedge-dev and contributors
- the approach of Unleashed Recompiled, also by hedge-dev and contributors
- the Xenia project's Xbox 360 research

Privacy
This website uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic: which pages are visited, the approximate region, and the browser or device type. The data is aggregated and doesn't identify you, and Google Analytics may set cookies to tell repeat visits apart. You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
SpeedBreaker itself collects nothing. It has no accounts and no telemetry, and its bug reports are saved only on your own device for you to share if you choose.
